advantages: The product is clean, new and of good quality. Cons: While it "fits" into the swamp of the store, it's significantly more. With the filter material added, the filter sock doesn't want to sit properly in my Eshopps ADV-100 sump. to make something useless. All the added filter media creates dead spaces and high flow zones, so it actually clogs faster and needs to be treated faster due to the filter nose clogging. It all depends on whether water flows through the sock. Thanks to the design of the ADV-100, water flows over the acrylic table and runs along the edge of the sock into the sock. With all media, the edge is not always flat, resulting in water (and unwanted waste) spilling through the filter into the sump and possibly back into the display reservoir. Nice try and I would buy many more if it really fit my swamp. The photo I provide shows this filter on the left and the Eshopps branded filter on the right. Huge difference.
