I'm a professional photographer used to shooting Canon and L glass, I appreciate good gear. I recently switched my mirrorless "travel" system for family outings and chose the M6II in hopes that I can use all of my amazing lenses and reduce the amount of gear I carry with me. After testing this adapter I found that it wasn't suitable for my type of photography, that's why. Cons: You get what you pay for here. The way it attaches the EF lens feels very tight and cheap. I almost worry that I've damaged the lens, camera or both, not the way I want to feel when dealing with a $$$ camera/lens. Far from smooth. The biggest problem for me was that it kept trying to autofocus. I saw this as a real problem that could potentially burn out the motor in the lens. My main use for this adapter would be taking my family for walks on vacation and capturing the quick moments when my kids were kids/holiday highlights. Yes, I could turn the camera off and on while (I do this to prevent my battery from draining) for short periods of time, say a Disney World parade where I wanted my camera on, and for take pictures for a short time. The camera searches for focus all the time between pressing the shutter button and taking the picture. It takes a long time for the motor to spin back and forth in the lens, looking for focus. This was 100% a deal breaker for me. I tried all the different focusing methods in the camera, disabled the eye AF and the face only focused on one point/spot. Nothing changed even when the camera was still. Switching to manual mode on the lens was the only way to fix the constant focus-seeking. I also noticed that it doesn't work with my Sigma Art 35mm lens and that there is severe vignetting, similar to a bad Insta filter. Knowing that this doesn't work with every lens is disappointing. Especially my 35mm. ProsPrice handheld/landscapes. If you're a landscape photographer who shoots lenses in manual mode or only manual mode, this might still work for you. If you're someone who just takes a shot and then turns the camera off, maybe this could work as the savings are so huge compared to a Canon adapter. At the end of the day I don't like what/how I'm shooting so it would be great to bring it back to save a few bucks but at the end of the day you get what you pay for here. I hope you find this review helpful.
