Stopped working after first use

I used the laser level once and it worked great. I was happy with the purchase. Then about 3 days later I tried to use it a second time and the horizontal line doesn't appear. I haven't dropped it or anything that might damage it. I tried the buttons on the top, removed the batteries and replaced them. Nothing worked. I bought it for a horizontal line but now only the vertical line works. Wouldn't recommend it.
