I've searched and searched and searched for a good AT&T compatible GPS watch and I think I've finally found it! A friend of my seven-year-old son had a Gizmo gadget and liked it, but we don't have Verizon, so I started looking for something that might work with AT&T. Every watch I've seen has had terrible reviews. People have always complained about battery life issues or inaccurate GPS tracking, and they all seemed to be operating on a 2G network that is now practically non-existent. But this watch had a really good review so I thought I'd give it a try and I'm SOOOOO glad I did. They were pretty easy to set up. We took it to the AT&T store where the rep put in the SIM card and it booted up. The SIM card allows the watch to essentially be its own phone line with its own phone number, and it only costs $10 a month to add it to our plan. One of the harder parts (to understand) was setting up the APN to turn on the device. This was an important step for the watch to connect to the AIBEILE app. I wasn't familiar with the term APN, so I was a bit confused at first. However, the note that came with the watch had VERY clear instructions (3 page note which was very helpful). It explained exactly how to set up an APN for AT&T users. Once this was set up, the clock worked great. I was able to make calls from the watch and the watch was able to receive calls. Voice messaging was easy to use and we were even able to send and receive photos. One of the most impressive features of this watch is its GPS accuracy. For example, the very first day after I set up and started the watch, I had it in my car and was several buildings from home. I ran the AIBEILE app to see if it can find the watch and it not only found the approximate area where the watch was located but also the exact parking spot! No joke! This showed my parking spot on the map. I was very impressed. It also tracked the clock while my car was in motion. So to say this is a great tracking device is an understatement. The watch only lasts us about three days, so there is still a lot to learn, but I can say that I am very happy with it! GPS tracking), there are a few things to criticize. First, while voice messages work and work well, it only forwards the message to the AIBEILE app. It doesn't text it to the other person's phone. So if you try to send a voice message to someone listed in the phone book who doesn't have the app, that person won't receive the message. In addition, the camera is at an unfavorable angle. It is installed at the bottom of the clock. I can see why they might put it there as it would probably be a good angle if it was sitting on your wrist, but it's very difficult to put your face on the screen and press the image button at the same time. (However, this is not a very important function for me). Finally, the audio is a bit static at times. Do not get me wrong; that's not bad. You can hear people well, but when there are other sounds around the person wearing the watch, it can sometimes be difficult to understand what they are saying. Bottom Line: If you're looking for a GPS watch, these are great! I am very happy with my purchase! It definitely came in handy for Halloween tonight! And my son loves it!
