Review on 🍲 Farberware Classic Stainless Steel 4-Quart Saucepot with Lid - Silver: Versatile and Durable Cookware for Every Kitchen by Adam Rogers

Revainrating 1 out of 5

I've tried many pans... I keep coming back to this line. but now it drowns and holds smells.

Update February 2019… Now I got 1 star for this pan after rating it much higher once and then resetting it when it started to sharpen. Now it's very difficult to get rid of odors completely, especially after cooking starchy foods like beans and potatoes, but whatever it is, there's residue that needs to be cleaned repeatedly because the food just sticks to the bottom. I recently made a tomato sauce and cleaned it up a few times afterwards, but when I used them side by side to make pudding, there was a tomato smell. I will not be buying any of these pans again and all the bad reviews of late seem to say the same thing. Updated on 10/2017. Not what they used to be and I'm disappointed enough to reconsider my review. We have been using the classic Farberware for about 50 years and recently added this in September 2014 and gave it a good rating and 5 stars which I am not removing. The pan (I actually bought two pans and both have pits) is now starting to develop small pits in the bottom. Minimally used, hand washed and never heated on our electric stove on medium power. I find it quite pathetic that something recently bought should start cracking when pans from the same company don't after at least 30 years of use. They may have a few more years to go, but they are now no more than 2 stars, a significant drop from the original rating. If you want a decent frying pan, it's probably better to find an old one at a garage sale, real estate sale, or thrift store. In about 60 years of buying pans and pots, we always seem to have added something to our original Farberware set. . We've had those expensive plated, anodized, Chef-approved Revere Ware stainless steels and more failed Teflon-coated ones than I can remember. The design has changed a bit, although the handles and top of the lid feel a little worse than the old ones, but that's a minor complaint. They're good on an electric stovetop and cook well over medium-high heat...you never have to crank the settings up. One minor gripe with this is that it's almost identical to my old 8 quart, but the lids aren't interchangeable...very, very close, but not quite, and it would be nice not to have to search for a specific lid. I have no real complaints about this one or the others I've bought to fill sizes which is why it gets 5 stars. They even heat up nicely at the bottom, are easy to clean, look good and the price is right.
