UPDATE After 4 months of use our pup has grown to 50lbs. and one of the spines seems torn. I'll try another, sturdier one to see how well it holds up. To be honest our pup was barely 2 months old and he was too eager with everything he saw so he didn't think to keep still. I'm sure it would be fine for small trained dogs, but it didn't work for us. For this reason I am deducting a star. INITIAL REVIEW We just bought a puppy and I heard about these back seat protectors. We don't believe in dogs in the front seat, so I figured I'd start right there with him... and us. I didn't want anything too expensive but was looking for higher door sides and just to see how they work. It was easy to assemble and fit perfectly. I just unpacked it, attached the headrest loops to the front and rear headrests, adjusted the back and sides a bit, done. All I did to take it off was pry up one side to release the front headrest and then do the same for the others. I liked this one because of the higher side sills to avoid scratching the sides of the doors. (Mainly because he's still a pup and full of it.) I'm not sure how long the mesh window will last, but I like the idea. This allows the puppy to see us without jumping up. The rear anchors that slide under the seatback to hold this base and the Velcro area for access to the seatbelt stoppers are nice additions. Since my harnesses transition at the top and then hook at the bottom, I could use the harness as usual, but I probably won't because I have a special leash with a puppy harness snap. The material looks very washable, but only with time. let me know how it holds up We swim with him weekly, which is even better because he's usually a bit wet.
