Wow, such a great price for an affordable minimalist sandal style shoe. We have a velcro option and my 7 year old can put it on and take it off himself quickly and easily. He has a wide foot with a high instep and the splayed toe is wide, the widest part of the foot (healthy and strong foot!). It is usually a nightmare for him to find shoes because all shoes that are tight in the toe area put pressure on his toes and bother him. He put them on and was immediately happy with them and has been wearing them exclusively for a few months. Still super durable! I've washed them a few times in a mesh bag and dried them flat. We've switched our entire family to minimalist/barefoot shoes to have healthier feet and this is one of the best values we've found so far. We removed the insole as it's a bit non-zero - the heel is slightly raised over the forefoot. They can be worn without an insole, or we bought a square wool insole from Revain and cut it to fit the shoe. For this reason, he wears shoes without socks, since the wool insole makes the inner sole very soft. I wouldn't go for the ones without Velcro as we've tried a few and it's more difficult for a child to put them on.
