Works great - hard to get part of

I got this because as many have mentioned here a faulty canister vent valve is the likely culprit if you drop the CEL and after you fill up your car hard to get is beginning. It was a really bad canister purge valve and installing it helped. If you have a 3.6L LY7 engine (like a 2008 Pontiac G6 GXP), the valve is near the bulkhead behind the engine, which doesn't give much room. for the corresponding motor size. The best way to get it is to disconnect the electrical connector and quick connector of the evaporator side hose, then disconnect the engine side inlet end of the hose's quick connector to give you a little more room in the line; The release tab is on the bottom of the hose and is not easy to access unless you can pull up on the valve and get under it to pull the tab to disconnect the valve. Putting in a new one is pretty easy, just reconnect everything and the quick connectors will snap into place.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
