I bought this item to have for home use as I was tired of paying $$ at a car dealership just to find out what was wrong with my car , and then having to pay $$$ again for repairs. My car showed the engine fault code again and that was the last line. The packaging is very good, along with the scanner you get all the necessary cables to start checking your car as soon as you receive the device. Pros: Easy to install and use. Intuitive interface. Portable, elegant design. .Cons: The instructions are only for registering and updating the tool. There is no explanation for using the device. Conclusion: I regret that I haven't bought this tool for a long time. It's for car enthusiasts like me who can do simple car repairs/replacements myself, avoid visits to a dealership and don't overpay for their services. In my case I was able to figure out what the engine trouble code means and replace the faulty parts (spark plugs). This scanner saved me about $500-600.
