Review on Knitters Pride Signature Mega Winder by Amy Mcleod

This item is beautiful and looks well made. I can't figure out if there is a learning curve or if I'm using it incorrectly. I used this as an upgrade when my KnitPicks plastic winder gave up the ghost after a year. First, my complaint about this model is that one anchor is not enough to stabilize the base. I ended up having to use two extra C clamps my dad gave me to secure it well. Second, it winds very loose cakes despite trying different winding speeds and yarn tensions.
