These cups are normal. The cup itself is very thin, and when we covered one of them with a lid, the cup got crushed. Then the handle cracked and milk flowed everywhere. I'm definitely not a strong person. I can't open most jars, but seem to have enough strength to crush a cup while trying to close it with a lid. The whole point of ordering these mugs is to avoid spills. It's ok to entertain a lot of kids in a pinch, but I wouldn't order them again. Better get real plastic cups with straws from Oriental Trading.
