Excellent quality. You can tell it's actually handmade, the tiny flaws make it even more real. The engraving is beautiful (shines with silver with a flash). There is more detail on the ship than I imagined. The sails are opaque, which is a great contrast. I only wish they had used a different color than red for the flags/hulls; it tends to disappear when dipped in whiskey. (Maybe it would look really cool in vodka, too bad I'm a whiskey drinker.) The included cleaning advice card was helpful. 2 glasses are ideal for etching. (Don't worry if you see little bubbles on the etch after cleaning, wipe the outside with a soft microfiber cloth and they will go away. It's just that the etch holds water longer than glass, so the water/ white loop of vinegar solution to clean them sooner dries out like a small ring over the etch easy to remove) As you can see in my video the stand was quite sturdy, it could be filled by myself. If the slight oscillating moment of the moving liquid makes you nervous, you can get on your knees to refuel. If you already have your own steel ice, the included 8 steel ice cubes with tongs work as a separate gift; It has its own fancy little box that comes with it. There was no way this item could have broken in transit (unless the whole box was crushed). The globe itself was encased in styrofoam like the rest of the items but had an extra layer of packaging foam. The included funnel was handy and also works with normal bottles. I bought mine when it was on sale for $48. In general, a great purchase that I do not regret!
