For my Passat 2012 they are identical. Installation was no different than removing and reinstalling the original hardware. Little did I know I was looking for subtle differences between these and my original coils that I didn't see. Only time will tell what they really are, but with over 150,000 miles on the original spools it was long overdue to replace them. Note that the coil packs come with a small packet of petroleum lube, no different than those available at your local drugstore, to apply around the spark plugs to ensure a proper seat on the coil. Since I've set it to a standard setting, there isn't a high output equivalent to the OEM equivalent on these coils or spark plugs that I'm using. Generally a very economical tuning.
