I usually wear size 10 shoes, so I had to go for a size 9 for them to fit me well. Maybe someone prefers longer sandals, I prefer not to trip over them. It's okay, I could go back and get a smaller size. The construction is durable and comfortable. Two problems: the bottom of the sole is quite hard and there is a distinct noise when walking in it on a hard surface. In addition, traction on wet rocks and cobblestones is very poor. Not sure what compound it is, seems more plastic than rubber. I expect them to last a long time, especially if they aren't worn as often as I'd like. Clumsy and slippery, remember?
