Review on 4 Port HDMI KVM Switch Mechanical by Johnathan Delgado

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Tried it and works great!

After so many years, my IOGear 4-Port DVI KVM Switch (purchased on 9/2015) died suddenly and without warning. After struggling to bring him back to life, I knew I had no choice but to replace him. I was debating whether to buy another DVI switch or convert to HDMI, knowing that my video configurations and drivers might not work if I switched to HDMI (think Linux). It made sense to stick with the DVI setup since I didn't have to deal with the mountains of cables stretched across my desk and walls. However, it also meant that some of the enhanced resolutions supported by my graphics cards were not available. I took a chance and purchased this Tesmart KVM switch, and oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooolly Auf meinen beiden Linux-Rechnern bekomme ich 2560x1440, Windows ebenfalls 2560x1440 und auf einem Linux-Server 1920x1200. The best resolution I got on these machines was 1920x1200 with the drivers present. Switching is smooth and customizable; but to be honest I like the default settings. I don't use the remote but it works. In general, the product makes a solid impression. If the lack of cords puts you off (I only had one set) I wouldn't drop this product just for that. In my case, my machines are arranged so that each requires a different length of cable, which I already had. I hope this KVM switch lasts at least three years and I think I will follow the same path as IOGear.
