This product does what it is designed to do. Much safer than using a broken extension cord without a grounding pin. Just. Do not do that. Seriously, don't. If you need a three-prong extension but are stuck with two-prong sockets, just use one of those. It's reasonable. If you want to be sure that it actually grounds the connected device, always install it where the metal tab touches the screw in the panel. If you are concerned that it is not making enough contact with the screw, simply bend the metal tab slightly in the direction it will contact the screw before inserting. Just.
