Best sounding BT speaker I've tried from EIGHT different brands

***** I've been using 2 Oontz Ultras connected via bluetooth for the past few days. I had minimal issues with this setup. You install one Oontz as the main speaker ("left channel") and then connect another Oontz as the "right channel". This applies to a stereo system with two speakers. You hear a clear separation - part of the band or orchestra in one speaker and another part dominating in the other speaker. In a medium-sized room, this works great for us. We only had a BT jump (2 second left speaker cut off) ONCE in that whole time - much better than my experience with Anker Motion+ which turned on and off so often (every few seconds) even though my phone was on was right next to the Anker Motion+ master, which we used to connect two Anker Motion+ speakers to our phone via a Y-splitter – ugly cables snaking through our room. After listening to the speakers for several hours a day for two days, I have a small criticism of the sound quality: the bass isn't strong enough for these speakers to serve as sources of white noise. Powerful motorcycles, cars and trucks permeate the sound of these speakers, depriving us of the main purpose of their purchase. We're discussing the possibility of their return for a bigger, more stable, and more powerful bass system. The Oontz are loud enough, but they just don't have enough bass to block out the frequent but intermittent low-pitched rumble from outside. That's not the fault of these speakers, though. If you're obsessed with speakers like me, it might help to know that these speakers sound a lot better when placed on something solid like a board or the ground. I tried them on the grill. There is almost no bass. They also work better on a piece of wood, such as B. a hardwood floor or a cutting board, than on a piece of plastic such. B. a plastic mat. We're leaving at least one of these speakers because the Oontz Ultra's mids and highs are so clean, and the tiny speaker itself is in "stereo." We just desperately need something with more bass to more effectively hide the explosive traffic noise that's getting worse every year. Everyone knows that sound quality is subjective, but too many claims from different headphone and speaker manufacturers are too many. I've either listened in stores or bought EIGHT different brands of BT speakers including Bose's Revolve and Anker's Motion+, one of the top rated. I liked the sound on each of them so much that I resigned myself to ONLY using the BT speaker for white noise to combat road/neighbor noise. Having recently been disappointed by a toy-muffled Bose Revolve at a local hypermarket, I decided to buy a pair of Oonz to use in my kitchen to hide outside noise. I just got the speakers and am sitting here writing this review while listening to one of them. I am blown away by the excellent sound quality from these tiny speakers. Every other small speaker I've tried, including Anker's much-vaunted Motion+, crackles high-frequency sound (piano music) even at low-to-mid volume levels. Not only do these oontz not crackle with any type of music - be it high-frequency tone or anything else - but they remain crystal clear even at maximum volume. I'm confused. And all without privacy-violating apps on my phone to "adjust" (in vain) equalizer settings. But it's not just about the lack of distortion. The sound quality is excellent in bass, middle and treble. I don't need heavy bass, so don't worry about the bass not rocking my desk. But for the music I listen to, the bass sounds natural and clean, complementing the rest of the range. I even switched from music to podcast to audiobook, determined to find the lack of sound quality in these oontz. I give up. I can not find it. The voice quality sounds better than live - clear and fluent. Why do other BT speakers (check out Anker Motion+) cost so much more than these Oontz? Also, I ONLY listen to the Oontz single and I feel like I'm in a small concert hall. I can hear the separation between the different strings and the warmth of the woodwinds. I FEEL the impact in my arms and hands on my desk as I write this review. I might buy a second pair of these just for storage in case they are the only BT speakers that sound this good. I almost invested in a pair of Sonos (10x the price!) just to have a decent sounding pair of BT speakers at home. Sooooo glad I tried Oontz for the first time. Outstanding sound quality in an incredibly small package at a very reasonable price. home run. I will update my review if anything changes. I didn't get a chance to rate the BT connectivity or battery life. So far I have connected my iphone to the Oontz single via a 3.5mm aux. I will be connecting another Oontz to my phone AND my current Oontz via a Y-splitter. I never want to deal with BT nicks/voids and other issues ever again. If it works I'll either buy another pair of Oontz Angle 3 Ultras or another Cambridge Soundworks system to carry around.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Terrible hardware
