Review on Carpenter 3x5 3/8 inch Visco-Elastic Memory Foam with Spillguard DuPont Barrier Rug Pad by Reynaldo Guzman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Highly recommended: Floor mats, upholstery and protective covers

That's wonderful! Half an inch thick, feels so good! I use an indoor and outdoor rug in my kitchen that has no padding at all, not even a backing. I have a Carpenter 4x6 pillow, see how it works. My large kitchen rug is 5ft 7in x 4in so I had to cut it to size. Even with my usual semi-blunt scissors and my arthritic hands, it was easy enough to cut, and there's lettering on the back of the mat to help keep my scissors straight. I like the thin plastic coating on the pad. It prevents liquid from seeping onto the floor and possibly destroying the pad. I haven't tested it for effectiveness, but I'm sure it will play by itself in the end. It also had the effect of holding the mat in place as I paced back and forth, which I wasn't really expecting. If you want your rug to STAY in place when your 4 year old decides to skate on it, I suggest putting a large amount of rug tape between the underside of the rug and the floor. I believe the carpenter's rug will this will likely prevent the rug from sliding on the rug itself, so the tape should prevent the rug from sliding on your floor.

  • Elastic band
Cons
  • Expensive insurance
