Review on ๐Ÿ“ Bush Furniture Birmingham Lateral File Cabinet: Harvest Cherry Elegance for Organized Office Spaces by Linda Coltharp

Absolutely HORRIBLE packaging, the product is ALL chipboard or MDF, will not buy this brand again.

I bought two of them. It's a shame I didn't do a little more research here. These are clearly chipboard and MDF. Some parts look like thick molded cardboard. When comparing similar items, the term "material typeโ€ uses the word "woodโ€. I'm assuming paper is also made of wood, so I should be more careful reading these things. Packaging - The outer packaging is terrible and not strong enough to support this heavy 96 lb item. I ordered two cabinets. One was late so they didn't go together. Both arrived in terrible condition. The outer box of the second was so badly torn that the carriers taped it up en route, at least I hope that's not how it started its journey. The outer packaging was so bad on both that I took pictures as I fully expected to find significant damage to the contents. I have a damaged part on the second cabinet. I have lots of photos for those who need to see how bad it was. I also left feedback on the packaging. Due to bad packaging I will not buy any more Bush furniture in the future. When I bought this item, I also bought another piece of furniture from a different manufacturer. It came as it should, the outer packaging is whole and strong. Note. Other furniture arrived with the first of these side filing cabinets through the same carrier. POOR packaging cannot be blamed on the carrier. Now a note on the product itself. Cabinets are fit for purpose. I was disappointed that there wasn't a single piece of solid wood on this piece of furniture. However, they will work for me and I will use them. I end up needing filing cabinets, but I feel like I paid too much for what I got and I'm frustrated with myself for not doing more homework. I should have researched this brand more online than the description and information provided here in the Revain listing. Compared to other furniture I bought at the same time for a comparable price from another manufacturer, this other furniture from another manufacturer was solid pine with a very nice finish. Unlike this closet. Assembling was no problem. Instructions and part designations are appropriate for assembly. Yes, the assembly takes time, but in my opinion it is to be expected. The final adjustment of the drawer is the most difficult. They tell you to adjust the drawer front to line it up, but that's not enough. We also had to adjust the drawer pull mechanism so that the drawer body was raised slightly. They close normally after adjusting the slide mechanism. BUYERS BE CAREFUL. Be confident in what you are getting and that you are willing to risk a damaged product for the price you are paying.
