The pass-through method doesn't save any time compared to the standard method, but it does allow my tired eyes to see the colors of the wires better and organize them. I was able to connect a terminal in the complete reverse order because I couldn't tell which end of the connector was on top. A tip: After removing 2" of the sheathing, unrolling and straightening all the wires, I insert the wires one at a time, bending each about 1/4" as I go. Once all 8 are in I can double check the order and insert the fork into the crimp/cut shirt with a tool that does both at the same time. Works perfectly every time unless you have a reverse connector like mine.
