I've been using this style of hinge pin doorstops for years and they work well. They allow for more adjustments than any other doorstop I've used, but there are some issues that need to be understood. These doorstops are easy to install. Just use a hammer and a small screwdriver to remove the hinge pin, then put this doorstop on top when you replace the hinge pin. The opening width of the door depends on how far the adjusting screw is extended. The further the screw is pulled out, the less play the door has. The door is stopped by small white rubber grommets at the end of the metal end when it makes contact with the door and an elongated adjustable screw touches the frame. Depending on the construction, materials used and the strength of the door opening, this can lead to damage to the door, a jam, a wall or all at once. I've found this to be common with any doorstop. In my experience they definitely work best with solid full length doors and frames. This product is of particularly high quality. The metal is strong, they are reinforced and have a cool design element. Good product.
