Review on 💾 WD My Passport Ultra 500 GB Portable External USB 3.0 Hard Drive (Old Model) - Blue - Auto Backup Feature Included by Johnny Spencer

I ordered this product in March because I am a writer and needed to support my writing. I treated my passport like a newborn baby and kept it in the box when not in use. I plugged it in 4 times over the next few months and the 5th time it was no longer recognized by my computer. I contacted WD support and went through all possible steps to fix the problem and finally came to the conclusion that it couldn't be fixed. So WD sends me to their support site so I can retrieve my hard drive data and don't you know - I have to pay for it. They charge over $150 an hour with an average cost of over $500. Now that I've bought it, I have to decide whether to leave all my work behind or spend a fortune to get it back. I find it ridiculous. Yes, I know backing up your work to a few discs, but I think it's also fair to expect a brand new product to work. I am very dissatisfied with this product and will never buy it again.
