Review on Stereo Compatible Carplay Double Capacitive by Jason Vigen

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Fairly stiff setup/setup but works well for the price.

Installation in my 2004 Toyota 4runner was challenging and I'm a master electrician with all the tools and connections. The wiring itself is fairly simple, but installing it on the dash was definitely a challenge. And the worst part was the steering wheel control adapter module. I thought the Metra Axxess aswc-1 would work but I happened to have a different steering wheel module from a previous install for Sony radios that worked with the steering wheel buttons. But it required adding a resistor and following the instructions carefully, especially for programming. After several attempts to assemble the dashboard and adjust the radio up and down and back and forth, everything worked for me. Don't forget to connect the rear camera cable before plugging everything back into the dash, wondered how I know. Or, better yet, do as I did and just expand it to a more usable area without removing the radio. Everything seems to work as advertised, the sound is decent, I'm only deducting one star because I have yet to figure out how to index my music, even if I put it in separate folders it will only be on the routes drive. . And with over 1,000 songs listed alphabetically, with no way to skip to anything near the end, finding a specific song is quite a challenge.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Protection
