Doesn't work like a normal thermostat

I didn't like that it didn't come with a stand to put on the table next to me. I also didn't like the fact that if I set it to 78 degrees it would drop to 77 before turning on and then heat up to 79 before turning off. Now it's definitely better than turning the fireplace on and off manually, but I definitely notice fluctuations between being too cold and too warm. Overall a pretty good buy. This remote replaces the one I already had.
