Ideal for miniature paint bottles

I don't have a medical background - I have this to help mix my Reaper miniature paint bottles. I have way more bottles of paint than I probably should and try to use a different color scheme every time I paint a character for my D&D games. This meant that I had to constantly shake the paint bottles quite vigorously. I didn't like the "glue bottle to _____" method and was looking for something that would allow me to quickly mix the paint without the need for wedges or straps. As for paints, I also wanted to go through 100+ bottles and mix them all, which would take far too long with those mixers you see in miniature paint ads. This vortex mixer is perfect for my needs! A bit pricey but worth the investment. It's small so it doesn't take up much space on my desk and I can grab a bottle when needed, press it against the hood and have a perfectly blended color in seconds. I can also go through my collection and click each one individually to make sure they're all ready to go and haven't been disconnected from sitting for too long. It can also bring back some lost color! With my Reapers, I didn't need to add beads to my bottles, but with my few Reaper-free paints, I added a tiny granule to help mix with the swirl. It can work without it, but not as well as I've found. All in all it was worth it!

Pros
  • For repetitive uses, a low activation force helps prevent fatigue
