This is a great laptop stand because the back is completely open and air can circulate freely and the bottom of my laptop is basically floating freely. Since the bottom of my laptop isn't resting on anything, it dissipates heat better and stays cooler. The stand is nicely packaged in a box with foam inserts for added protection. There are 6 screws and a small Allen key. It only took about 3 minutes to assemble. Keep in mind that this will raise your laptop a few inches off the table, leaving your hands with nothing to rest on while typing. But I use it at my desk so it's perfect for my purpose.
