Ineffective - Robot vacuum

We have been using this device for a few days to keep our tile floors clean as we have three dogs in the house. I unboxed it and charged it (no docking station, just a power cord with transformer) and it took about 4 hours to fully charge. Once it was done, we opened up the manual and familiarized ourselves with its operation, then turned it on and let go. There is no carpet in our living room and it moved relatively easily across the floor. As the sun shone through the glass doors we saw dog fur on the floor and waited for the unit to get there but it got stuck in a corner and had to be rescued. I picked it up and put it in the spot with the most hair on the floor and pointed to it. I was very surprised at the amount of hair he left behind and the small amount left in the bin. Don't get me wrong, he ended up sucking up some hair, but not as much as he should have. I let him work and after about 40 minutes he stopped dead in his tracks. Return to the charger and wait for the "4-hour fast charge" again. We made sure the container was empty and reshipped it with the edge cleaning feature enabled. The unit found the wall and tried to follow it, but had a natural tendency to dodge to the side and never followed the wall. Then he found a carpeted bedroom and he just didn't have the strength to move and just stood there complaining about us. Then there was the focus mode, which required the device to move in a rectangular loop. I'm sure it will work in a room with nothing in it, but there's no chance with furniture. It exited that mode and reverted to automatic mode, which I think just means random wandering. After running and charging this thing for two days, I found it much easier and faster to just get a reliable duster and clean the floors in about 20 minutes with no hair on the floor. I really wanted it to work, but with the fact that you have to plug it in, charge it, unplug it (make sure the cord isn't on the floor) and pick it up afterwards and then wash, rinse, repeat. However, what can you expect for just over $100? Save about another $100 and buy a better one that returns to the dock itself and can be programmed to run at certain times of the day.
