worth your money.

Full disclosure, we didn't purchase this as a stand replacement so I can't speak to its suitability for the role. We bought this because we needed a larger cutting board and it has been a full size in THIS container so far. It's a lot easier to cut large chunks of meat into steaks or chops, and the juice groove catches most of the mess, meaning I don't need a baking sheet underneath the one I'm working on. However, what prompted me to search for such an item was the ability to slice a 16 inch pizza without any cumbersome action. So why spend so much money on a cutting board when you can buy a plastic board for a fraction of the cost. ? This is a valid question and your answers may differ from mine, but this helped me. At first I spent a lot of money on my knives. Good knives make the difference between cooking as a chore and cooking as a pleasure. While plastic sheet is better than nothing, plastic is inherently abrasive. As a result, my knives have to be sharpened more carefully, which shortens their lifespan. Second, while most of the wooden boards I've worked with have been hardwoods (rock maple is popular in commercial meat decks), these boards are even more expensive than this one (a lot) and lack some of the lesser-known (but very useful) bamboo qualities. Bamboo is naturally antimicrobial, but that doesn't mean it doesn't need to be washed, just that it's less likely to harbor germs when you're not using it. In addition, no processing is required when growing bamboo - a new trunk simply grows back where the old one was cut down. This means that the carbon (and methane) that is taken up from the ground stays in the ground and not in the air. It also requires no chemical fertilizers or pesticides and much less water than other plants. So, in addition to the benefits of having a cutting board big enough for hard work, I can also reduce the wear and tear on my knives and my health and well-being. Vicinity. What's not to like?
