Little did I know there were no laces to tie these shoes, instead they use a bulky and difficult to use flimsy tying system with a needle threader and a cumbersome ratchet cap at the back of the boot. Twist the cap to tighten and release tension in the cap to open, which doesn't always work. The ratchet toe sticks out in the heel and is not at all safe to ride when the heel is on the ground. I have since returned these boots and am very disappointed that this new binding system has not been revealed.
