Review on Nikon NIKKOR Fixed Focus Cameras by Jhalak Mehra ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Just super, it's beautifully made, I'm very happy with it.

Just love the lens. Allows you not to waste extra time when processing portraits for dancing with a tambourine, to get a pleasant complexion. Gives a color reproduction that I really like. The color saturation is high, it does not require enhancement in the editor. The lens is worth its money, in terms of price / quality ratio - amazing glass! Has pros: 1. Excellent, for an inexpensive lens, color reproduction. Good skintones. When processing in Lightroom 5.0, the maximum that has to be done - in less than 50% of cases - is auto tone correction. In most cases, "as shot" looks optimal and does not require toning correction. Fringing is noticeable, but easily corrected in the converter. 2. The auto white balance works well with the lens (d5000 camera). 3. Autofocus is fast enough, incl. allows you to shoot a report (!) With satisfactory quality (despite the fact that the AF system of the d5000 is not at all for reporting and sports). For some reason, both before and after adjusting the camera (back focus appeared on 3 lenses, except for this one), the focus shift lens did not show. 4. Works well on the face in backlight (if the sun is far from the edge of the frame). 5. Sharpness at f/1.8! Razor-sharp at f/2.8.4.0, but without excessive micro-contrast. 6. Very decent bokeh! Even on crop, on an open aperture, "lemons" are visible at the edges of the frame. 7. No perspective distortion in portrait photography. Its cons: 1. In difficult lighting, it happens that AF smears. 2. Almost impossible to shoot in extreme backlight (so-so drawback). 3. I can’t achieve razor sharpness at non-portrait distances over 10 m (perhaps, the carcass requires more precise alignment, or maybe it should be so). 4. On an EGF crop of 127 mm, respectively, the scope is open air and large rooms. 5. The picture is nice, but not as "airy" as on 1.4D or at least 1.4G.
