So this item REALLY works like an ice/snow shield. My main complaint is that the nylon straps wear out and break where they attach to your mirrors. I believe that's mostly due to the reinforced metal bars that run down the sides of the left and right sides of the screen. During a windy storm (which is common in Tahoe), this excess metal turns the lid into a sail, tugging and tugging at the transom straps, ultimately causing them to die. I recommend looking for a snow/ice cover that lacks those metal reinforcement bars and has the straps that attach to the mirrors AND a lip that goes in the car (with the passenger/driver doors open) and in place held when they are closed. This setting will last the longest and limit wear on the coating. 2 stars because it helped me get through a winter - 3 stars off for durability.
