Review on Hustler SSM1 Ss Professional Ball Mount & Spring by Crystal Spicer

I've tried several cheaper ball/spring mounts on a 102' whip over the years. I have to say this is the best out there I've ever used. The positive feed is much better insulated than other mounts I've used. I didn't need to make any modifications to this guy. A good cork gasket rather than a flimsy rubber gasket that rots within a year. The base plate is nice and thick , I cut out one of the threaded holes during installation but chalked it up because I just overtightened it.But all 3 bolts were fitted with lock washers and nuts for support.The spring is one of the heaviest I've seen , as stated in a previous review.. small and flimsy, not the case unless you're trying to run an A99 or something There is a nut on the top that makes tightening and loosening the antenna much easier. !
