Cannot be mounted on a flat surface

This product has a large screw that protrudes a good 2.5cm underneath making it impossible to mount on a flat surface. You have to drill a huge hole in the center to make it work. wasted my money

The best ball mount for 102 " whips!

I've tried several cheaper ball/spring mounts on a 102' whip over the years. I have to say this is the best out there I've ever used. The positive feed is much better insulated than other mounts I've used. I didn't need to make any modifications to this guy. A good cork gasket rather than a flimsy rubber gasket that rots within a year. The base plate is nice and thick , I cut out one of the threaded holes during installation but chalked it up because I just overtightened it.But all 3 bolts were

I read the reviews, ignored them and this product cost me more than it was worth.

Ordered, returned. The return was processed immediately. I read the reviews, ignored them, built a roll cage with a 27 degree angle to attach the whip and planned to use it. NOT CORRECT. Now you have to pay for a custom mount to install the Wilson mount. Very weak attachment is easily removed. It may be ok if you never use it and leave it in the box. With all the bad reviews I hope they stop offering it. It's sad to see this flimsy thing for sale.

I received the wrong item that I ordered. I have a very cheap alternative that has a raised band around the seam of the ball - like the one you see on sale as an alternative. I did not want. It's stainless steel, but to call it "professional" is silly. Since I live in Alaska and hate shipping stuff, I just tossed the ball in the trash can. It's just bad. People appreciate the product I got, but I don't see how - I wouldn't bolt it to any of the cars I own and I have old worn out "classics"…

The best ball mount for 102 " whips!
