. I had the Jack Wolfskin Mountain Attack before and actually wanted it again. But JW has revised the product and completely messed it up. (hard heel area - rubs up, hardly any more wearing comfort). The Columbia War was the alternative. In the meantime I've noticed that his profile is much better and more sure-footed. The only thing I miss is that the shoe would be a bit wider (as with JW) - I've twisted my ankle a few times because I'm used to the "full contact surface" of the JF On the left of the two shoes (everything is still rock solid on the right) some parts have already been loosened and the first gaps form between, for example, the sole and upper part or the front padding and the actual shoe. The seams also clearly show air, so that I wonder how long the right one WILL last - and that with normal wear and tear. The Jack Wolfskin only showed signs of deficiency after 3 years. In retrospect, that's a no go! Addition: I have now partially revised the review. After less than a year, the left shoe fell apart. Specifically, massive seams come loose and you can stick your finger in anywhere and the sole comes off. Well noticed - with normal hiking and walking on level ground without any special terrain. Unfortunately, this model is completely inferior!
