Out of the box it only took about 2 minutes to put in the batteries and understand how to use this thermometer. I love that you only have to scan one area - the inside of my pizza oven - and I can see the different temperatures on the screen. I quickly figure out where to put the pizza so it cooks faster and doesn't burn. I love that for the price this thermostat has a backlight that lights up automatically when I turn it on so I can always see the reading! Turning it on is as easy as pressing the trigger button with your index finger while holding the device. . Hold down the trigger and scan the area to see the temperature. If you need to switch from C to F, just press the black button on the left. All in all a very easy to use digital thermostat that should do everything you need it to!
