Won't be long before it dies on you

Well I really liked it and enjoyed using it. But I had it for maybe 4 1/2 months and now it doesn't work anymore. I like the off button, it's convenient. The temperature control is easy to use, but as you work it changes the temperature because your hand is approaching it, just press it to change it. If you leave it to a child, no, it gets hot even at the handle.
