The strap that attaches everything to the tube didn't work the first time I tried to attach the unit to the roll cage. I redesigned the mount to use a hose clamp, but then found the hinge ball was too sloppy to hold my phone on small bumps (Moto Z3). I couldn't tighten the hinge ball thumbscrew enough to hold the phone. targeted where I wanted to go. The spring-loaded ears that grip the phone aren't deep enough to adequately hold my phone in the protective case. A secondary elastic band strap kept it in place. However, you can see severely stretched sections of the rubber band and it seems that the rubber band doesn't last long before it fails. Haven't tried it with a GoPro yet, but since the main benefit for me was the flexibility to use my phone or my GoPro, this product is a big flop.
