I use (8) of these in my Synology NAS and the performance is just great. I'm using SHR (Synology Hybrid RAID) and the drives just keep working. I upgraded my original 2TB WD SE drives to these 4TB in about a year or a year and a half or so. The first one I bought lasted almost 47,400 hours, that's 1,975 days or 5.41 years, and it's still working. One of the drives failed for me after about 37,000 hours. I pulled it out, replaced it with a new one, the NAS did its job, rebuilt the array and never missed a beat. In terms of performance they are great, the NAS has a 1GB copper connection to the main switch and also the 2nd NIC of the NAS goes to another switch to create a SAN which I used for testing/training in an ESXi use environment. Overall great discs, I will always use them first.
