It was easier than the instructions said. I have a 2019 Subaru Forester Touring. All I had to do was remove the trim that runs along the u-groove of the tailgate latch. It was held in place by four hidden plastic clips. Just pull straight up and it will pop right out. It is best to also remove the two clips that hold the molded hard foam floor part on the left side next to the rear wheel. After that, you can get under the plastic panel to the back of the panel closest to the sunroof opening and rubber molding. You should feel a wire going through and have a connector wrapped in pink tape. Remove the tape connector, connect the ends of the cable and ground the white wire. Use some zip ties to secure the cable and put everything back together. I checked everything with a trailer light check and it was ok. Now all I have to do is find a Class III 2 inch hitch for the Forester. I think I have a box with the cart in front of the horse.
