These bed rail fixings work well. HOWEVER, DO NOT use the included screws when inserting the hardware into hardwood. My bed rails are maple, which is admittedly a hardwood. I drilled pilot holes and then cut 3 (out of 3 attempts) screws as I tried to attach the rail mounts. I then went to my local screw shop (yes, in Amish country Ohio we have those things) and bought good steel screws and none More problems Yes, I would buy them again if I wanted to extend another bed, but I would just throw the screws away
