I wanted something safer around the house than just slippers or moccasins, but it wasn't too important, so I had a bit of a "barefoot" feeling. This fits the bill perfectly; I don't slip on hardwood floors or stairs, but they're not bulky - I can still tuck my leg under me on the couch if I want to. Plus, as an added bonus, they're great for long distance rides!
