The only place for a suction cup (flat and smooth) in my car was on the side of my center console. But that made the phone too low with most phone mounts. This allows for low mounting but places the phone at eye level without obscuring the view of the windshield or any of the dash displays. I was able to shape the wave to avoid the glove box and glove box door on the dash. An additional support clip prevents vibrations even on rough roads. The phone is easy to put in (even in a thick case), but I recommend using two hands to remove it. When you press the unlock button, the phone wants to jump out of the holder. The suction cup is still strong after 2 weeks (I used the extra adhesive disc). I really like this mount - it suits my needs perfectly!
