it appears to be very strong and well made

First of all it is just a trunk. Without lubrication and retaining ring. Otherwise, it makes a very solid and well-made impression. It's almost an exact replica of the one I'm replacing, which tells me I'm not the first to change it on my quad. I will update if there are any problems.
