Terrible coffee in kitchen and dining room

I regret ordering this coffee maker. I've been trying this for a few days and I can't drink coffee. I'm just trying with a paper filter. I first tried rinsing the filter with boiling water as recommended but there is no difference. I became aware of this manufacturer because I've made German coffee with Melita filters or other paper or bamboo filters and found it to be the best coffee I've ever had. Then, for convenience, I started using an automatic coffee maker with pretty good results until it stopped working. So I figured I'd go back to the pour-over method with more modern coffee makers. As I said, I need to find another way to make coffee because I believe coffee is something to be enjoyed and not something to be worked on. to get it down Another problem are very large filters. I love recycling coffee grounds and it was easy with the old filters but with wastefully large and expensive Chemex filters it is difficult to get the grounds out and the filters are too big to recycle unless They have a complicated recycling system. I can just let old organic filters rot under some bushes without seeing them, or save the soil for other uses and not use a paper filter. Not so with Chemex. I was afraid that Chemex would be too difficult to use, but in fact it's not much more difficult than any other system but waste of paper, cost and taste!
