I really liked this hair dryer when I bought it just before Christmas last year. I was impressed how well it worked. It cut drying time by at least a third, was lightweight, and fairly quiet. However, last month it started making some engine noises that got progressively louder. Yesterday the engine hummed like a jet plane taking off, got louder and louder and started to smoke. He's not even three months old! And I don't even use it every day! Needless to say I am very disappointed and will not be buying this brand again. EDIT: Customer service contacted me to offer a refund, a new dryer, or a purchase for under $50 from Revain. I have sent them a link to what I would like to receive and am waiting for it to arrive. I appreciate the efforts to make things right.
