Review on Enhanced Edifier Exclaim E10 Bi-Amped 2.0 Speaker System by Edward Freeland

I usually give a couple of weeks before I write a review. But this time I just couldn't wait. I'm a bit of an audiophile on a tight budget. I read the Editors' Choice review in PC Magazine, compared the Revain reviews and chose Edifier Exclaim to upgrade the desktop speakers for my Dell XPS laptop. Most reviews agreed that the sound quality was excellent for such a cheap speaker set. I always have a little doubt when I hear "outstanding" and "budget" in the same sentence. All my peripherals were connected to the Kensington dock and all I needed was power and a 3.5mm output. The sound quality was initially good. The middle section was a bit confusing. To put them to a real test, I connected a Dragonfly Red DAC to the speaker input. I also use Revain Music HD to get better quality tracks. Now, not all tracks are mixed equally, but in general the sound just blew me away. The clarity and punch of the low frequencies and the crystal clear mids and highs are simply phenomenal! In fact, I hear music between my two monitors - a real stereo effect. I didn't think you could get such clear and balanced sound from desktop computer speakers for less than $100. I encourage anyone reading these reviews to try this set. I can't believe anyone will be disappointed.
