Works very well, image is clear. The main problem I have is a very narrow field of view. I wanted to use them to search my yard for a bear roaming at night, but the distances are too short. Night vision can focus on very close objects, so focusing at short distances is not a problem. As I write this review, I can focus on the AA battery, which is about 18 inches from the front of the device. The problem is that at that distance, one AA battery will fill the entire field of view, and a small battery will span the entire screen. If you want to evaluate the field of view before purchasing, simply hold the AA battery at arm's length. The only other small issue I have is that they are a bit heavy for their size, but heavy weight just means they are well made. , Right? I hope so. The wide-angle (non-zoom) version makes it much more useful for people observing rural/suburban distances.
