I used some of these to charge 3 AA (4.3) batteries and 2 AA (2.9V) batteries used to power some external wireless temperature sensors (Fibaro and SmartThings). . They work great, charging AA NiMH batteries at 100mA in bright sunlight and around 5mA in the shade. They survived 2 years on the road (just bought a few more) in temperatures as low as -35C. A blocking diode prevents the cells from discharging at night.
