Review on Philips Hue Bluetooth Gradient Ambiance Smart Lightstrip 2m/6ft Base Kit with Plug - Multicolor Strip (Apple Homekit + Google Home Compatible), White, 570556 by Maria Noble

Great features: lights and ceiling fans

The light is fantastic, well glued to my new solid walnut bed frame. I originally intended to place them under kitchen cabinets, but Litcessory said it would be a year before compatible extensions and other gradient stripe fixtures became available. Not wanting to waste them by leaving them lying around for a year until then, I bought extra extensions and placed them around my new king bed (pictured is my old queen mattress) on the bed until my new king mattress arrives . . I've set them to trigger with the Philips Hue motion sensor when someone gets out of bed, and it gives off a beautiful soft glow at night, adding ambiance to the room (which admittedly is still a little slow to adapt since I moved in). . The price is ridiculous. Yes, they are overpriced. We know it. This is not a criticism, this is just a complaint no matter how valid it may be. The light works phenomenally and will match or surpass others. The downside is that you pay way too much for it, and to be honest, if I wasn't so connected to the Hue ecosystem, I wouldn't be either. If you're not very familiar with the Hue ecosystem, check out Govee lights or explore alternative gradient lighting. I'm just starting out with smart home accessories and settings, so I'm not yet familiar with the capabilities of HomeKit or Google Assistant. I believe there are ways to evoke scenes and such by mixing Philips Hue bulbs with other brands and they could be the ticket. The only other downside to this method is potential color matching issues, but I'm sure with some manual tweaking you can set up scenes where the difference is completely unnoticeable. If you're like me and well settled into the Philips ecosystem I'd definitely say it's worth just spending the money and getting them, they really are an amazing improvement over the latest generation of light bars!
