The extension does its job of "extending" the gradient light bar, but doesn't do it very well. The first section of the expansion has many problems getting the right color even in the same color system. This is very noticeable in night light mode as can be seen in the attached image. At first I thought I got a bad one so I sent it back. However, my replacement behaves exactly the same. I need to attach a curtain and hide them to keep using this. The lighting on this product is really amazing and the spread is great. My problem is that I need two 3ft sections that are separate from each other (bar shelves). I was hoping I could find a way to separate the sections and solder a connector between them like most LED systems do. Alternatively, I'd like to be able to connect the extension to the main block's controller box. Unfortunately, none of these options are possible. I have an old generation lightbar so I decided to give this a try. The first generation can only be one color, but this shows up in the Tint app as 3 lights that can be different colors and brightnesses. That is very cool. But the light strip itself isn't as easy to install as the previous generation because it's not as flexible. Ridiculous price tag aside, this is a near-perfect Hue product. I won't go into price in this review, but it's definitely the first thing that struck me compared to other LED strips that don't work with the Hue Hub. I already have V1 and V4 light bars, I bought two of these base kits and two extensions, I attached two extensions to one base kit for a total of 12 feet for a round window . , another basic kit replaces the V4 on the chimney.
